Chocolate Creme Brulee

  • 1½ cups Cream
  • 2 ounces Sugar, granulated
  • 2 ounces Semi-sweet Chocolate, melted 4 Egg Yolks
  • Whipped cream
  1. Combine the cream and sugar.
  2. Slowly bring to a boil.
  3. Remove from the heat and whisk in the melted chocolate.
  4. In a separate bowl, whip the egg yolks.
  5. Whisk in a small amount of the warm cream mixture.
  6. Slowly whisk in the remaining cream mixture.
  7. Pre-heat the oven to 300.
  8. Pour the mixture into four small oven-safe bowls.
  9. Place the bowls in a baking pan. Add water to the baking pan to halfway up the sides of the bowls.
  10. Bake for one hour or until set.
  11. Cool.
  12. Chill in the refrigerator.
  13. Before serving, cover the tops of the dessert with a thin, even layer of granulated sugar.
  14. Place under the broiler or use cooking torch until browned.
  15. Garnish with whipped cream.
